Weekly Update 06/18/2014

From Bob Schwartz, City Manager

Water Leak – Sunday we had a deluge caused by the failure of 30 linear feet of 6” water line on Oxford Road near Victoria Station. The line split lengthwise. It took our crew most of the day to repair the damage and turn the water back on.

Trail Maintenance – You can only imagine what sort of sound this tree made when it snapped and crashed over the walking trail north of West Soule Street. Our crew (pretty much the same men who worked 14 hours Sunday) cleared this off the trail on Monday. We will schedule debris removal later.

Rosenwald School – Vivian Harris put together a meeting at city hall to discuss the Rosenwald School. Jeanne Cyriaque with the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources was included in the meeting. After the meeting we went to the site and then to lunch. Here’s a picture including three students who attended Rosenwald School.
