Weekly Update 12/31/2015

From Bob Schwartz, City Manager

Asbury Street Park – State law requires a Phase I Environmental Assessment of all property acquired by local governments to be used for a park. We’ve attached the cover sheet along with the first page of our Phase I Environmental Assessment recently completed. Please note: “This assessment revealed no Recognized Environmental Conditions current associated with the property and no vapor encroachment conditions. It is the opinion of the environmental professional that further investigation is not warranted at this time.” It may not sound like it, but that’s a positive report.

George Street Park Drainage – Our contractor, Ace/Kimble Services, has delivered most of the new drainage pipe and his equipment to the site. The recent rain has slowed the start of construction, but it should start soon.

Asbury Street Park Surveys – We have conducted two surveys about the amenities people would like at the new park. The Citizens Advisory Committee is analyzing the results, but in the meantime, here are numbers from the two surveys. One was in our utility bills and the other was online from our Facebook page.
