Weekly Update 11/29/2013

From Bob Schwartz, City Manager

HAPPY THANKSGIVING – City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday. Our

regular council meeting is Monday at 7 PM.

→ Junk Vehicles – Chief Harvey reports the police department checked the city for junk

cars. We have issued the 15 day warning notice to three residents in violation. The vehicle

mentioned during the work session was found not to be in violation at this time.

Park and Trail Signs– – An unintended consequence of our new city code is that many of

the code section numbers are changing. Chief Harvey has taken advantage of this opportunity

to redesign the signs (and leave the code numbers off). We’ve attached a proposed version.

We would like to have your comments before ordering the signs.

PS. Because we use plastic on metal for the signs, we only have to order the vinyl overlay,

    not the whole sign.

175th Birthday – As part of our 175th birthday celebration, we are going to put together a

book of the 175 “history makers” for the City of Oxford. The forms and the program were

approved by the 175th birthday committee. Your utility bill this month will include an explanation

of the program along with a nomination form. We also have attached (here and here) the inserts to this email.

    Let the nominations begin!
