Weekly Update 5/10/2013

From Bob Schwartz, City Manager

Web site – We are not done, and we may never be done completely. But, we have made

considerable improvements to our web site recently. Please go to: www.oxfordgeorgia.org

and let me know what you think.

o Personnel Actions - Public Works – Troy Womack who worked as an apprentice lineman

has resigned effective Friday, May 10. He starts work as a driver with Aqua Terra on Moore

Street on Monday. We will put an ad in the newspaper next week. I’ll work with Jody to select

a replacement for Troy. Applications will be due by June 7. We’ll miss Troy.

→ Tree Board – Mr. Anderson Wright is no longer on the Tree Board. While he still owns property

in Oxford, he no longer lives within the city limits. So, we have a vacancy on the Tree Board. I’ve

asked the Tree Board for ideas for a new member, but if you have any ideas for a new member,

    please let me know.

Whatcoat update– Peter Drey, the landscape architect we retained for this project, made his first

preliminary design report Tuesday morning at 10. Our meeting included: Dean Stephen Bowen, Myra

Frady, chief financial officer; and Margaret Dugan, manager auxiliary operations with Oxford College

and Mayor Roseberry, councilmembers David Eady, George Holt, Terry Smith and Jim Windham,

and Bob Schwartz, city manager. Peter reviewed his design so far with the group. The group made

several suggestions that Peter is going to consider. Our goal is for Peter to complete the revised plan

along with a cost estimate by the end of June. We will report to the full council soon after.

Public Works– We’ve included the public works schedules.
